HALL. I was born Wayne Douglas Hall at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg on January 6, 1945. I had a small operation in February and was adopted soon after to the Armitage Family at Miniota, Mb and was renamed William Herbert Armitage. I am looking for my birth mother who would be about 25 years of age at my birth. She was born in Ontario in 1919. She was Protestant of British ancestry. At some point she moved to Saskatchewan. She was described as healthy and intelligent. She completed Grade 10 at a Technical School and left school at age 16. She was employed as an office worker for 4 years prior to my birth. She had no relatives other than her Grandmother and an Uncle at the time of her pregnancy. She was single and was not comfortable sharing her life situation with her relatives. She moved to Manitoba a few months after her pregnancy, presumably in 1944. In January 1945 she had brown hair, blue grey eyes and a fair complexion. She had met my birth father at a dance and knew him for about 9 months. He was from England and it appears he was temporarily employed in Canada. He was Protestant, had a good education, was healthy and pleasant. He was 5 foot 11 inches, medium build with dark brown hair, brown eyes, a fair complexion and weighed 165 pounds. He spoke of his Mother and Sister. My birth Mother never told him about the pregnancy and lost track of him. It is believed that he returned to England. My Maternal Grandmother was Protestant, of British descent. She died in Ontario when my birth Mother was born in 1919. My Maternal Grandfather was Protestant, of English descent and was employed in a management position that required him to travel on his job. He died in 1937 in Ontario. My Maternal Great Grandmother was born in England and died in Saskatchewan. My Maternal Grandfather died in a Mental Institution. My Maternal Great Uncle lived in B.C. My Maternal Great Aunt had at one time lived in Ontario. I would appreciate any help that would help me find out who my birth parents are. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
