Refered to at The Childrens Home in Amarillo where adoption took place as "HONEY" Released to adoptive parents Dec. 4th 1931 Birth took place on a farm in Olton, Lamb County ,Texas Birth Mother - Opal Irene Ogden born 21st Aug 1913 in Olton 18 Year old Single Parent Not Listed in ANY birth index! Have sent for Birth Certificate to Verify this A.M. *********FOUND*FOUND*FOUND********* Looking for Birth mother or family members. Adopted name Patricia Ann Husky December 2, 1931 There are conflicting reports on where my mom was born. I have affidavits from 1956 from her aunt, and uncle that state she was born in Plainview, at the Plainview sanitarium on December 2, 1931. I also have a letter and affidavit from L.C. Wayland M.D., attending physician at the time stating " I was called from Plainview to the home in Lamb county", and again in his letter, "The birth was at the home as I recall in Lamb county not far from the Hale County line..." also in the letter he stated he was under the impression that "paperwork" was taken care of by the Presbyterian Childrens home ( in Amarillo) and that his record should have been filed with the State at that time. The state and childerns home both say they have no records! In the Amarillo Globe of December 3, 1931, there is an article headlined" She's a Honey!", that states ," She was brought to the home yesterday, just hours after her arrival on earth". She was adopted by the 5th, as there is another article of that date headlined, "Honey has a home! Five Hundred Residents of Panhandle Ask for Blue-Eyed Baby Only One-Day-Old". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
