ADAMS : DAVENPORT | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Query Text: |
I have recently had DNA done on our Adams line, when it came back it said we were originally Davenports. IT was a shock.Our earliest ancestor in James Adams b. 1799 in TN. he married Catherine THomas of NC and came to MO in 1837. HE died 1849 in Ray County MO. So, how did we come down from DAvenports? It would have been in the 1700's probably, did father Davenport die and mother marry an Adams who raised the children as ADams? Were we adopted into the Adams family, or was in a NPI? If any of you reading this know of a DAvenport being adopted or taken in by and Adams, I would love to know about it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
