This is a follow up on Amelia Amy Cresdee. I received information that places Amelia Amy Cresdee with Mr. Neil Gray, Rodney, Ontario on 15 November, 1893. At that time he had two children of his own and indication were that he would treat Amy as one of his own. In 1894 the Rodney School Census shows an Emma Gray (age 9 yrs) living with Neil Gray in Rodney. There might be the possibility that Amy may have changed her name. If there is anybody out there that can shed some light on this I would appreciate hearing from you. The 1901 census of Aldborough Twp. & Rodney Neil Gray and his wife Catharine McLarty were still alive. He changed the spelling of his last name from Gray to Grey. In the 1901 census there was no sign of Amy Cresdee (Emma Gray). Maybe things didn't work out at the Gray home and Amy was placed elsewhere. I do know back then that a lot of information was kept from people in other words it was hush, hush. I have asked my wife's cousin in the UK for a birth certificate of Amelia Amy Cresdee. When he gets it he will send it to me via email. Thanks for your help Ivan | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
