'm trying to trace the family of John Carr IRVINE b. abt 1859 in Scotland, d. 29 Apr 1936 in South Australia. He is supposed to have emigrated to South Australia from Scotland or England aboard the Hesperus in abt 1876 or 1877. John Carr IRVINE married Sarah Jane ROSSI in South Australia in 1886. According to records his father was Joseph Septimus IRVINE. Any information would be helpful. I'm also looking for details about Sarah Jane ROSSI b.abt 1860, d 6 Nov 1906 South Australia. Her father's name was Ralph ROSSI b. abt 1825, d. 24 Fev 1913 in Fullarton, South Australia. He had another child William b. 21 Aug 1847, d. 9 May 1905. I think he is of Italian heritage but he may have come from England before emigrating to South Australia. One family member thinks there is a connection with South Africa. Ralph had a wife called Mary b. abt 1819, d 8 Sep 1901 but she is not the mother of Sarah or William.
