My father, Ralph John Steffen, RIP - was born and raised in Miller City Ohio. He and most of his family moved to Detroit Michigan during the depression in the 1920's. Ralph and brothers George and Harmon Steffen had several very successful businesses, Steffen Grocery and Steffen Hardware Store which was sold in the 1950's when Ralph moved his family to Tucson Arizona for health reasons. Our family, (7 children) all eventually moved to Southern California. Seeing Britta Steffen, German Olympic Swimmer win a Medal at the Bejing Olympics, renewed my interest in tracing our "Family Tree". While visiting Germany in the early 1970's, I discovered a very small village called "SteffenHeim". As I recall, it was located in Bavaria - close to Mannheim?. I have never been able to locate it on the map of Germany and would welcome information about this important Steffen historical landmark. Please let me know if you have any information about this area. If you care to correspond, please contact me at budsteffen@earthlink.net - Thanks for your interest. Ralph E.
