I am the grandaughter of Wilson Page Peck who was born in 1849 In Schorarie County, New York. I believe his father's name (init.) to be Oren (Orin?) H (or F) Peck who was born in Mass. His mother's name was Lucinie Simons (Symons?) nd she too was born in Mass. The older Pecks seem to have come from Lexington, Mass. and made their way to Newburg, N.Y. to Schoharie, N.Y. To Jefferson, N.Y. to Elliotville, N.Y. to Dwight, Ill, and during the Civil War, to Paxico Kansas. Wilson Page Peck married Mary Z. Giltner and they made their later homes in Paxico, Kansas and Oklahoma. Wilson Page Peck made the Oklahoma Territory landrun (Cherokee Strip)into Oklahoma on Sept. 16, 1893, and made a settler's claim near Blackwell, Oklahoma where they (he and his wife)lived till she (Mary) died. Wilson Page spent the reamainder of his days with his daughter Ethel Jessemine Peck (Slavens) and died at Copan, Washington County, Oklahoma on Janury 26, 1927. He and his wife Mary ar buried at Paxico, Kansas. Wilson Page and Mary were the parents of Orville, Orin, Earnest, Gertrude, Esther, and Ethel. Gertrude and Esther died within one week of one another during an outbreak of diphtheria. Wjould like to hear from someone who may be realted to this family. Wilson Page may have had brother's named Harvey, (serveded in Civil War) Soloman who is likely buried in Modesto, CA. Contact me at Rosie3811@aol.com | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
