Query Text: |
My great grandfather Josiah Thompson and his wife, Laura and 3 children first appear on the 1860 census in Camp County TX. After he served in the Civil War he apparently became an unruly person when he was a saddle maker in Alvarado, Johnson County, TX. The townspeople eventually killed he and his partner, Benjamin Bickerstaff. My question is, where did Laura go or was it really Laura with him in Alvarado. Future names appeared on death certificates that reflect Carolyn Saunders. The widow apparently lived until 1930 as a Johnson as my father recalled and died that year. Thompsons lived in Commanche and Cherokee Counties and Hill. Does anyone descend from this Thompson family? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
