I am trying to make a connection between my deceased step-father Clay Kennedy (b.1922), grandson of Archibald Kennedy (b.abt 1863). Clay left me some documents which include land purchase certificates from the 1850s, one for William W. Kanada (I believe to be Cannady)and the other for Archibald Cannady, both in Hamilton Co., IL. In the 1850 Fed census, I found Archibald (b.abt 1830) and William (b.abt 1834) as the sons of Archibald Cannady (b.abt 1785). Since my stepfather had these documents in his possession, I believe the Cannadys were his ancestors.
