I am looking to make contact with any of my PRENDERGAST relatives. My ggg grandparents were John and Mary (Lyons) PRENDERGAST of County Waterford. All but one of their children, moved to the U.S. in the 1860's and 1870's. Their eldest son, John, stayed in Ireland and later married Julianne DOWLING in New Zealand and after a while they returned to Ireland. My gg grandfather, Thomas F.Prendergast came to the U.S. in 1869 and first settled in Brooklyn, New York. He then sent for his fiance, Bridget SHANLEY, in Ireland and they were married in New York. In 1881, Thomas, Bridget and their children moved to Bureau County, Illinois. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
