My Great-Grandmother, Anastasia Lawlor, of Tullaherin, Co. Kilkenny, married John McEvoy of Kilkenny City about 1848. Her father was Buck Lawlor, farmer and owner of a quarry in Tullaherin. John emigrated to New York in 1853, followed a year later by Anastasia and their four children. Five more kids were born to them in the US.
