Dorothy Jean (Barcal) Moore was my Grandmother. The big mystery of her life is her adoption shortly after her birth April 18, 1920. Below are the sketchy details we have collected from numerous sources. Any information anyone else may have would be greatly appreciated. Dorothy Barcal = born Helen Kroupa --> Birth Mother--Emilie L Kroupa - Lived in Wescott, MN (Hennepin County) --> Birth Father--Harold Henry (Possible fake name?) --> Dr was a James or Douglas? --> Adopted from Morey Hospital Institute in Sioux Falls, SD. --> Adoption papers signed 6/9/1921 --> Born in Wescott, Adpoted out of Sioux Falls to the Barcals (Peter Joseph and Violet Earle) in Sioux City.
