Looking for Gr. Gr. Grandfather, Garrett H. Fitzgerald. I cannot find his grave! Died 12-27-1871 in Ft. Wallace, Ks. but, lived in Salina, Kankakee, IL according to probate records. Married 1st wife Emily Vining. I found her grave at Limestone Cemetery, IL 2nd wife Eliza Barry (my Gr. Gr. Grandmother) I cannot find her grave! Children, Abby LaVerna, Mary Frances, called "Fanny"-- (1st wife's children) And, Dennis, James H., James Joseph,Emily M., Edward & Josephine Elizabeth(2nd wife's children) Josephine married a Fred Smith, circuit court judge in Manhattan, Riley County, KS. Edward & James died early. Eliza (Barry) Fitzgerald remarried to Thomas Seery 10-15-1874: after Garrett Fitzgerald's death 12-27-1871 at Ft. Wallace, Wallace County, KS Garrett's Father was James Fitzgerald and Mary OKeefe who lived in Ft. Covington, Franklin County New York.(picture) They were married 1820 & emigrated from County Cork, Ireland in 1828 with four male children: James, Garret H., David & Dennis. James petitioned and applied for US citizenship 1840 in Bombay, Franklin, NY and, settled in Ft. Covington, Franklin, NY with his family there. I believe they were farmers.
