My name is Ericka Hughes. My father is a Mattox from Missouri and I am seeking any leads I can get. He is Richard Leroy Mattox originally from Hannibal, Missouri now living in St. Louis. His siblings were Robert Leon and Roberta Mattox and Ida Mae Mattox/Ward/Simon all of Hannibal. His parents were Leona "Nellie" Doolin/Mattox/Hamilton and Robert Leon Mattox, Sr. who worked as a Hod Carrier in Hannibal. It is believed they divorced between 1927 and 1930. Leona later married Henry Hamilton. That is all we know of Robert, Sr. His Maternal Grandmother was Susie Doolin (Maiden name and origin unknown) and Grandfather Joseph B. "Papa Joe" Doolin (Origin unknown)who later married Lyda who had a daughter named Izetta Smith (from a previous relationship). Papa Joe worked as porter for Standard Printing Company. His maternal great grandmother was Elizabeth "Lizzie" Johnson, this is the only information I have on her other than she lived in Hannibal with Joseph. He had one aunt who lived in Hannibal and Springfield, Illinois named Mary Etta "Mamie" Doolin/Brown/Burns who married Leroy Brown then Frank Burns. Mamie and Frank moved to Springfield, Illinois where Mamie died in October 2002. Frank preceeded her in death. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
