Trying to locate where my great-great-grandparents were born in Ireland. They initially immigrated to Scotland and then in 1854 immigrated to the U.S. John MURTHA (b. 1828-1833)and Rose/Roseann SHERIDAN (b. 1830-1833). They had a daughter, Bridget, born in Scotland Nov 1852 and a son, Patrick, also born in Scotland 14 Aug 1853. These dates according to U.S. Census. I happened to locate the marriage of a John Murtagh and Rose Sheridan, 19 May 1850 Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland. I also found a baby John Murtaugh baptized 21 Jul 1855, Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland, whose parents were John Murtaugh and Rosa Shirdon. Not sure if they are the correct John and Rose, because I believe my John arrived in the U.S. in 10 Jul 1854 on the Emerald Isle at Castle Garden, NY.
