Query Text: |
Would anyone know of any Manx public houses in the 1800s owned or run by a MOORE family? My ancestor Charles Moore was a publican in the 1840s. In the 1841 census he and his family were living at Ivy Cottage in Braddan. He was born in Leitrim, Ireland and had been a professional soldier, also possibly the son of a soldier. We wonder whether his family was originally Manx and owned a pub. He married Isabella Christian CANNELL, daughter of James CANNELL and Esther CHRISTIAN. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
