According to my birth certificate, I was born July 12th, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD at the Washington Co. Hospital. Was told that I was born out of wedlock to a young girl who was a daughter of a dentist with a common name in the Hagerstown area. She was short with auburn colored hair (again, I've been told ).Also, in the 60's, it was not un-common that the birth certificate showing the adoptive parents as the biological parents was filed closer to the adoption date itself, not the actual birth date. With that being said, I'll assume the date for now is accurate. All that I do know has come from my now deceased adoptive paternal grandparents. Long story short, not a good situation with adoptive parents after age 10. The only people I had any relations with were the grandparents. I have not seen the adoptive father in over 10 years (only for HIS mother's funeral) and the adoptive mother is now deceased. So, I have been living my life wondering the where, what, how, why, etc. for years. I'm 41 years old with 2 children. 1 from my first marriage (10yr. old girl), re-married and now also have a 3 yr. old boy. I used to get on these kicks where finding my birth parents, or even just my birth mother, was all I did. But as time goes by and the every day task of working and trying to raise a family is all you have time for, you loose interest. You think, maybe that's the way it's suppost to be. Some things have no reason or are left un-answered. Mayse so. That's why I'm posting this. You never know who's looking (for you?). Oh, I don't know if there is any truth to this or if it was just an "exciting addition to the mystery", that I also could have an older brother. I realize that my biological mother, if still alive, could have her own family and the past is something she trys to forget. I understand completley. But there's also a chance that not a single day goes by that she dosn't think about the little baby boy she had to place up for adoption 41 years ago, where he is, what he's doing. Being a parent, I can only emagine what that must feel like. Thanks for reading my "babble". Maybe this will help, either myself or someone else in a simular situation.
