I am an adoptee 32 yrs old. I was born 10/30/1975 to a 17 year old mom at Mary Immaculate Hospital,in Newport News, VA. I think I was named 'Shannon',possibly by birth mom. My adoption was handled through Catholic Charities. She was from somewhere in the mid-west, and my birth father was in the military, probably the Air Force. He was probably stationed at Langley AFB. When she found out she was pregnant, she came to live with him in VA. She possibly re-enrolled in a high school near Langley Air Force Base, for her senior year, hoping to graduate in June of 1976. It would have been Hampton, Tabb, Grafton, or possibly Bethel Manor High Schools. I don't know her name, but I would venture to guess Kimberly or Elizabeth...something that can be shortened to a three or four letter nickname. My birth father was called to duty when she went into labor, so her friend/roommate took her to the hospital. They lived in a trailer right outside the gates at (I'm guessing again)...Langley AFB. The state in the mid-west that she came from, (and that my maternal side of the family lived) is a short word...four letters...Ohio or maybe Iowa. I have two aunts on my mother's side, and my maternal grandmother had evidently been married three times when my birth mom got pregnant in 1975. My birth mom loved to play the piano, and was described as having brown straight hair, blue green eyes, a heart shaped face, 17 yrs. old, 5'2", and approx. 130 lbs.,with a fair complexion. She was also referred to as calm, poised and studious. She was thinking of trying to be a doctor, because she loved science. My birth father was 19, 6'3", approx. 180 lbs., slender, with brunette skin, brown eyes, brown hair. He was said to be quiet and introverted, with a serious way about him. He was possibly a basic airman, and he was a cook, evidently he loved to cook. Anyone with any information please contact me via email. I would really like to find her. I have finally gathered the courage and strength to get the ball rolling. Any suggestions about getting the high schools above mentioned to help me with records of alumni, or yearbook photos for class of '76 would also be much appreciated. Thank you. - Heather | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
