Query Text:

I have just started to search for my birth mother, father or any other family members. It appears that Kentucky's adoption records are sealed so I am not sure that I will ever be able to find them. I am a female, born July 22, 1951 at St. Joseph's Infirmary in Louisville, KY. Father Lammers at the Home of the Innocents handled my adoption. My adoptive parents had to wait until September, 1951 when I was 6 weeks old to have me. Home of the Innocents wouldn't let them take me home until they cleared up a bad case of infitigo of the scalp. I am a caucasian, with a fair complexion, dark blonde hair, 5'8", large frame, dark blue-green eyes and terrible vision. I had to start wearing glasses in the 3rd grade. I had thick, black hair when I was a baby, which later turned more blondish and got thinner. I have always been intelligent, learned easily, and made good grades all through school without having to study a lot. I have no other information which might help my birth parents to recognize me as their child. My only interest here is in getting to know a little about my birth family and possible inherited traits or medical conditions. I developed osteoarthritis in my knees about 15 years ago. I have allergies and diabetes. I had recurring pericarditis during my late 20s. A large fibroid tumor prevented me from having children of my own. Mainly, I want to thank the woman who gave birth to me, from the bottom of my heart. She was wise enough and loved me enough to give me the opportunity to have a wonderful, stable life with my loving, grateful, adoptive parents. I could not have hand-picked better parents or a better family life for myself. They explained to me from the beginning that I was special, that out of all the kids in the world, they chose me to be their child. Their world revolved around me. Thank you so much, my dear "mom", for having the courage and strength to do what was best for me. If I don't find anything about you here on earth, then I pray that God allows us to cross paths in heaven.
