I'm looking for any information on my father's family. The surname, in the U.S. was Lystrup. They lived in the Traverse City, MI area and originated in Denmark. I'm fairly sure they came through Ellis Island where the surname may have been changed from Lyndstom (sp?). I've spent many, many hours searching the internet and have hit several brick walls. Many, the result of websites that say they have information but require a paid membership to access. Pretty mercenary, if you ask me. I'm a college student and have limited funds....
