Query Text: |
Looking for anyone whose Melcher family history includes the following facts: Youngest son of German Baron, John Melcher, wife and 6 children died at sea in 1796. Children Leonard and Lucy survived, sold by sea captain as indentured servants to Dr. Fanistock. Lucy married and moved to Ohio, lost connection with her. Leonard married Rachel Stine. I have good reason to believe that Leonard and Rachel had son, John, c. 1815. John married Christena McMonigal in Centre County, PA. I believe Rachel died and Leonard remarried a woman named Cronister, who gave birth to my GGGF, Leonard (jr), c. 1817. I have Leonard (jr) family Bible with my family tree. I have a photo of Christena McMonigal Melcher taken by the same photographer likely at the same time as one of my GGGF, Leonard (jr), in Harper, Kansas. I am looking for info on the John/Christena line of descendents, as well as anyone who may know anything about Lucy Melcher. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
