In 1878 Arthur Edmund Gurney travelled half way around the world to make a new life for himself, his wife (Emma nee Harris) and his two sons (William and Herbert). They finally settled at Kohukoho on the North Island of New Zealand. Herbert was later to marry a Maori girl, who my Gran refered to as a Maori Princess.
