I am searching for my birth son. I was just under 18yrs old in 1973(otherwise birthfather & I would have been married and i'd have my son)and my Mother/Dad took me to Edna Gladney in Aug.1973(I graduated High School in May '73)and my son, i might add, my only child, was born of all dates, 9-11 of 1973. I was coerced into signing a paper if I wanted to hold or see my child. I gave birth at Duncan Memorial Hospital by a Dr. Stephens/i still have the hospital bracelet with the correct spelling of Drs. name and a hospital number-will get it out of my file if needed. The few minutes I was able to hold my son, he was so tiny, but had a full head of dark hair and blue eyes, just like Dan Gibbs Clark, his birth father! I am an only child and that is just one of many reasons any family is so important to me. His birth grandparents(my Mother and Dad) are still living-She's 87yrs and now wishes she/they'd handled things differently, as he's the only grandchild, and Dad was West Point Graduate-class of 1940 something, and abt.86yrs old now. My full name is Deborah Ann Resnick(and when i was cked into Edna, they changed my last name from Resnick to Ryan).I lived in Dallas, most of my high school life, as did Dan. My parents names are Barbara Ann and Saul Martin Resnick-11615 Whisper Trail-San Antonio,TX 78230(210)492-6785. Dan's parents were Alice and Hubert Clark and Dan had one sister, Donna. Have tried over thirty years to call Edna's post adopt.dept and 1st was told he had to be 18 before I could even leave a name & number for him, just in case he'd be looking...I called back and then it was 21 years...when he would have been 21, i called and they sent some forms, I remember I had to pay $15.00 at the bank for a lady to noterize one of the papers--then there was to be post adopt counseling required that cost abt. a hundred dollars; when all i wanted was to leave my name, address, and phone for him if he wanted to make contact. For the last 16 years, I've gotten a Patty Hicks in post adoption every time I've called...she's nice, but no help--i wonder if the "Luthern, professional couple who like camping-mid thirties,back in 1973' ever told him he was adopted? My son just turned 35 on Sept.11, 2008, and I will be turning 53 on Oct.26th of 2008. We are all caucasion. I have more info. if needed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
