Looking for info on Sir John Ennis, who was born in 1710 Athlone (West Meath), who left Ireland at approx 1738 and went to America because he killed an English officer. Sir John Ennis owned land in Augha, Cashel, Momragh, Bananarow, Caldragh, Tuelageh, amore Kachcullen, Gorthuane, Agapolo, Kilcross, all situated in the Barony of Leitrim. He had a son called James Ennis. Any help would be muchly appreciated as we are trying to trace him back to his property and a castle that might have belonged to him. | |||||||||||||||||||||
