I am searching for my Birth Mother. I was born in Karlsruhe, Germany March 7, 1963. My adoptive mother (Kate)told me that Erika was my birth mother and they met by being introduced by a mutual friend - military couple who was helping Erika out. My birth mother gave me to Kate and Bobby (adoptive father) shortly after I was born. Kate my mother, said that there is no information about my birth father other than he was military (army) and left. He was black. My mother told me at the time of my birth Erika had an older child (girl maybe) who at the time was in a childrens home. From what I now Erika had a very difficult time. However Shortly after I was born she did meet an service man (Army) who she later married and they may have had two children-boys? My adaptive parents were stationed in Ft. Hood Texas in 1967 or 1968. Erika my birth mother and her new husband were also stationed there. Erika and my mother Kate were in touch for a while however, My mother said she had to end the friendship because it was too difficult for Erika and as well as herself. My birth mother named me(Leila Erika) and that is the name I have today. My adoption was not initiated by any agency or goverment program. Both women agreed that once I was born Erika would give me to Kate and Bobby. However shortly there after the adoption was legal by children services in Germany. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
