Am trying to research my wife's grandparents and ggparents, beginning with maternal set: Adolph Ritter b 1886 d 1936 Cook, Chicago married Emma Makal 3/11/1911 Emma Makal b 1893 d 199? Both believed to be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL Emma Makal remarried to Emil Frank date unknown Any help with names of mothers & fathers, other siblings & other children & cemeteries, will be greatly appreciated. Now on to the paternal set: From the Illinois Census of 1900 we found: J.H. Christy b Feb 1854 m Sophia (maiden name not yet found). Census states he from Michigan she Wisconsin. Thru 1900 they had eight children, Sophia 1878 Joseph 1880 Emma 1882 Lena 1886 Fannie 1890 Arthur 1894 Walter 1896 Herbert 1899 We earlier found info that the first three of these children married three siblings of the Eckerly family (probably prox 1910): Sophia married Joseph Eckerly; Emma married Joseph's brother John Eckerly, Joseph Christy married Mary Eckerly, sister of Joseph & John Eckerly. The Eckerly family lived on Lawndale Ave in near NW side of Chicago. Christy family probably lived somewhere nearby. To-date we have found nothing more about the latter five children, nor of a Eugene Christy who was witness to the marriage of George Eckerly and Mary Ritter on 10-3-1931 at St Veronica Church, Chicago. George Eckerly was the son of Joseph Eckerly and Sophia Christy. We have found many members of the Eckerly family buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL. ... but none of the Christy family members noted above.
