I am searching for information about John "Jackie" Clarke (1881-1953) born in Ballinahown, Valleymount, Blessington, Co Wicklow, Ireland and later lived in 18 Hogan Place, Dublin. He lived much of his life in Dublin where he operated three dairy shops [Hogan Place, Fenian Street and Lombard St.] and also served as Councillor/Alderman and deputy Lord Mayor on Dublin Corporation. He was involved in the National Movement from around 1916. He married twice: first to Mary O'Reilly (or Reilly), secondly to Catherine McCann. He had two children with Mary O'Reilly, John "Sean" Clarke and Mary "Molly" or "Marie" Clarke. John "Sean" Clarke married a Kathleen "Kit" Fahey from near Avoca. We believe they had no children. Mary (or Molly or Marie) Clarke married a Thomas O'Keeffe. Mary and Thomas and family lived somewhere in the UK, possibly Nottingham. We believe they had at least five children: Thomas, Marie, Kathleen, Ann and Colette. Regards, Patrick Clarke, Dublin | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
