I am searching for info on Joseph Henry Shafer (Jos. Heinrich Schaffer), b. 22 May 1811, in Heppenheim, near Alzey, Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, He came to U.S. on 5 Oct, 1837 through New Orleans and settled in Arkansas. Parents were John Schaffer and Apollonia Rech. Married on 23 Oct, 1842 to Mary Ann Fowler, b. 3 July, 1822. Children were Apollonia Shafer, b. 4 Sept, 1843, and John Henry Shafer, b. 13 April, 1845.
