I recently obtained my pre-adoption birth certificate and learned my adoptive mother was names Nellie Yelmokas, who lived on Westville Street in Dorchester MA at the time of my birth on May 15, 1944.Nellie delivered me, a female adoped shortly after birth by Anthony and Elvira Misiti, of South Boston MA. Nellie was 21 years old at the time of my birth at Boston City Hospital, so she would have been born in 1923. I believe her father's name was Joseph John, who was a naturalized citizen from Lithuania. His wife's name may have been Mary. I do not know anything about my birth father (no name available), and do not know Nellie's married name, if, indeed, she did marry. If she's alive, she would be 85. I did not find a Nellie Yelmokas in the social security death index, so she either changed her name, is still alive, or never had a social security card. I would be interested in finding any living relatives, especially anyone who could provide some family medical My history. My children, who are grown, are interested in their geneology, especially since they can trace their father's family all the way back to Sicily! Would love to learn more about the Yelmokas' of Boston. Any info would be more appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
