Please help me find my birth family. See "Update 1/27/09" below. Based on the birth index records for December 5, 1963 in District 5701, there are two matches for me based on my knowledge that my birth name was Brian - Brian K. Watson (mother's maiden name) or Brian K. Sexton/Gray (mother's married name/maiden name). Update 1/27/09: I was recently given new information that verifies I was a Sexton. I know now that my mother listed her name as Estella Sexton, that she gave birth to a baby boy that weighed 8 pounds, ½ ounce and was born oat 2:20pm. The birth weight and time match what I know to be true. She listed she was divorced and born on December 15, 1941 in the state of Kentucky. She resided at 1 South Miami Avenue in Miamisburg, Ohio (South of Dayton in the same county, Montgomery, I was born in). Her phone number was 937.866.6175. She also listed her mothers name as Mrs. J. Staut, residing at 2262 Gettysburg, Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. I was able to criss-cross reference the above addresses, names and phone numbers and found that the address and phone number for my mother match what she listed. A Wendell and Patricia Holbrook was listed as living at 1 Miami Avenue. Mrs. J. Staut, her mother, was actually Mrs. Justine Staut and her address was for the Gettysburg Trailer Park with a phone listing of 937.277.1052. Birth Information: I was a male, born December 5, 1963 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. I weighed 8 lbs., 1/2 oz. I was delivered by Drs. John Divicky and E.J. Reagan. The doctor's address is listed as 945 Central Avenue, Dayton Ohio. I was birth number 134 for 1963. Birth Characteristics: My appearance and personality was described as a "happy child with blond hair and blue eyes. He is tall and sturdily built". The report on the Proposed Adoption stated that I "was in good health and developing normally". Adoption Agency: The agency that handled my adoption was the Family and Children's Service Association at 184 Salem Avenue in Dayton Ohio. They received custody of me by virtue of permanent surrender. The Probate Court Judge was Neal F. Zimmers and the Adoption was recorded by Ruth B. Ott in the Probate Court of Montgomery County Ohio. Family Health: There was no known evidence of any major disease in the family history. Mother's Characteristics: My birth mother was 22 and divorced when I was given up. She was white,5'5", 120 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion and medium bone structure. Her health was good. Her religion was Nazarene and she completed 11th grade. She was divorced at the time of my birth. Mother's Background: My birth mother had five siblings. She dropped out of high school in the 11th grade. Her past occupations were sales clerk and waitress. Father's Characteristics: My father was 21, white, had 12+ years of school, 6'1", 175 lbs, black hair, brown eyes and fair skin. Father's Background: My birth father was a high school graduate. His occupation was listed as an installer and electrical worker. His interest was listed as artist - drawing. It was said he was very easy-going and friendly. Siblings: I was my birth mother's second pregnancy. My birth mother already had a four year old son at the time of my birth. It is not known if he is my full or half-brother. Circumstances of Adoption: My birth mother was divorced and unable to support and provide for me adequately and wanted the security of adoption for me. The agency stated "the birth mother was having a difficult time managing and felt it was in the best interest of the baby to be placed for adoption". It was also reported that this was a very difficult decision for the birth mother to make. I was and adopted almost four months later on March 24, 1964. The only prerequisite by my adopted parents was that their child came from a musical or artistic background. My mother told me of my adoption at a very early age and said she was told birth name was Brian (or Bryan). Please contact me if you have any information on my birth family. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless. | |||||||||||||||||||||
