Query Text: |
Researching Guy family - specifically Rev James McFarland Guy born 1 August 1846 probably in Irvinestown. Parents Rev William James Guy (1818-1873) and his wife Sarah ? (d Oct 1894 aged 65). Was Presbyterian minister ordained at Ballindrait, Co Donegal 18 Dec 1872, died 3 October 1922 still in charge of his congregation. Has anyone any knowledge of marriage of James Guy, or any ideas on where he may be buried? Had sister Ellen ?, who may have been married to a Mr Wylie (or Wiley), and another brother William James Guy m Eliza Keys 4 Dec 1873 at Derryvullan North, Ferm. My grandfather visited James during or after his time serving in WWI. I am unsure of the exact connection, but Andrew Guy, son of John Guy and Ann Jane (nee) Robb were relatives, and family-lore has it that he was an "uncle" although I don't think the family connection between Andrew and James was that of brothers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
