Seeking information about James Kenyon and wife Mahalay Knowlden of the Bronx, New York. Time frame is 1810 that he arrived in the country from England...know nothing more about her. They have three confirmed childre: Joe L. Kenyon, firefighter in Chicago around the time of great fire there; Sarah Elizabeth Kenyon Jones, born in Bronx, died in Marquette MI; and Mary Kenyon Cooper married to William Cooper. Suspect two other children called David B. Kenyon, inventor of the slidepole used in fire houses, was also a fire chief in Chicago and possible older brother of Joe (known descendant is Nan Blick), Sarah (this family is entirely known)and Mary (if any Cooper-clan (Zinn of California) is intrested in sharing info, please contact!). Also think there may be a younger sister called Martha. James was tall and thin with really blue eyes...Mahalay was thin looking (I think) with brown eyes. This family is not related to the majority of Kenyons who come from the Rhode Island area. Please contact if you have any knowledge of anyone of these figures...thanks! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
