I am searching for my biological Grandfather's or family. My mother was adopted through what is now called Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. The foundling home was in Springfield Illinois She was adopted by George and Lee Hecht. Her biological mother's name was Margaret. My mother's birthdate was 9/9/42. My mother was in George and Lee's home but was not adopted until she was a toddler. My mother was blonde, blue eyed. My Bio Grandfather was said to be a cab-driver. Possibly joined the military at the age of 32?? We believe that he died during World War 2, which would have forced Margaret to give up her child due to lack of support. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
