I am female, was born 9/12/1955, in West Tennessee. Birth parents about 16 or 17. Birth mother kept me for 3 months then gave me up to the Tennessee Department of Child and Family Services. I was not adopted until May 1956. Birth mother called me Sharon Kay, no last name is known. They may have lived on a farm. Sent letter to Child and Family Services in 1985 or 86, two weeks later received note from her enclosed in a Child and Family envelope from birth mother explaining how hard it was to keep me in that day and age so she gave me up after 3 months. She said she still keeps two pictures of me, but she is now married with children and they don't know about me. She said she wanted to keep it that way so I stopped looking. Now I feel I really need to know and my children want to know about our birth family. I hope she will change her mind. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
