My grandmother's maiden name was Zech (Americanized to Zick). Her father was Adam and he had one brother Frederick, and possibly a sister (Sophia?). Adam and his wife Marion Klimach immigrated from Liepzig to America between 1900-1910 along with several other related Prussian families: Klimach (Klein), Michs (Mix), and Koslowski, where the settled in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Although we've got a good background on the Klimach family, there is little information on Adam and Frederick's background. Two possibilities I've heard are either that they were orphaned in their teens, or that their father died when they were young and their mother (Ararat possibly?) and sister were forced to immigrate to other parts of Europe due to WWI and the Russian revolution. Any information possibly connected to them would be appreciated. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
