I am researching a John Gilliam married to Frances, but I do not know if they married in Lunenburgh Co VA or in Granville NC. There are land agreements that state John is of Lunenburgh County. John I believe to have been born about 1700 or there abouts. John later changed the spelling of his name to Gillam because people were pronouncing the i with an accent. This John Gilliam/Gillam was the father of Maj Robert Gillam a Revolutionary Soldier. If anyone has information on John Gilliam or Frances and her maiden name and family or Johns ancestry I would be most grateful for a helping hand or guiding nudge. These Gilliams are quite tangled.
