I am trying to help my very best friend!!:Shelia G.(Boyer)Tarpenning; to find her son. Whom she gave up for adoption at the age of 16. Please request more information if needed my info is below: Thanks, Mrs. Carla J. Raper OK!! Here is the info I have: 1). Birth Mother:Shelia Gay Boyer Age:16 @ his birth and adoption. 2.) Birth Mother's DOB:9/28/58 3). The birth Father is:Melvin Smith but he is NOT listed on the birth certificate this man was a lot older than Shelia,in his 30's at time of childs birth. 4.)Delivered at: St. Mary's in Kansas City , Missouri. Stayed at St. Anthony's an unwed mothers home for about 6months 5.)Adoption handled by:Catholic Charities 6.)Doctors listed on her arm band:DR'S. Knoch/Buckner/Youngblood/Bickley (Youngblood was the delivery doctor) 7.)There is a number on Shelia's hospital arm band from the birth and is her only memento: I have no clue about this number OR what it is??? as it is not her dob or child's dob:looks exactly like this:(070360) Could be a file number???? 8.)Child: Male DOB: 11/5/74 9.)Description of child: Cole Black Hair and Blue eyes and olive skin 10.)Birth Mother and Birth Father's Ethnicity:Both are White/American Indian 11.)Shelia asked Catholic Charities that the birth parents be:1.)Catholic and 2.)To keep the name, she gave the male child:Raymond Joseph 3.)That the parents had no other children at the time (she felt he would be more cherished, if this be the case) 12).I know Shelia was able to see and hold Raymond Joseph or "RJ"discription above but no pix etc... 13)Shelia was asked to leave the hospital prior to the baby getting to leave with the adopted family.(who were waiting to take the baby after Shelia left, she told me she felt rushed out and was told the family was waiting) 14)Shelia never met the family and she knows, no one in her family met them either. 15)Shelia was told it was a closed adoption. I wish I had more information for you. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I want to do my best to help Shelia find her son. I watch her every time the news is on and a solider dies or there is a car wreak, she will often say to me "I do not know.. if he is even still alive, as no one would ever tell me" I just find this hard, as I am a mother to 3 sons and I can not imaging how she must feel. On a Positive note: Shelia does have 2 daughters and has been married for 31years, Her married name is Shelia G. Tarpenning. (Husband is Mike and daughters Katrina:28yrs.is already a Pharmacist!and Nicole: 26yrs.Works at a medical supply and prescription delivery company and she is expecting the first Grandchild!!!) I just know a reunion with her son would make her life complete. Another concern for Shelia is her medical history; she feels her son has a right to this information: Shelia has the chronic autoimmune disease Lupus. This disease is unpredictable and she wants to make sure she can see him while she is still in a well state of health.
