Researching my 2x great grandmother Emma East born 1856 in Thealby or Shearsby in Leicester.Uk(as shown on the 1881 census. She married Thomas Reynolds in 1875 in Wellingborough, Northampton.Uk and had 5 children, Stephen,Thomas,Maud,Emma and Mary. We believe Emma East came from a Romany Gypsy family with possibly a Smith connection. Maud Reynolds later married Stanley McGowan in 1901 in Newcastle upon Tyne.
