I am a descendant of a U.S. citizen last-named Noe. We can only trace it back to my grandfather's grandmother or great-grandmother (named Icabod Noe.) From what my grandfather was told, Icabod was living with her sister who was married. Her sister's husband had an affair with Icabod, and she became pregnant. We do not know if the surname Noe was her maiden name or the name of her sister's husband. We don't even know the origin of this surname or what is truth or fiction. We've been told it is the Greek spelling of Noah (New Testament reference.) I am DESPERATE to know!!!!!!!!!!!! My grandfather that I am referencing is my adopted dad (mother's father.)
