I am looking for my grandmother’s uncles and cousins immigrated in the USA in 1900th. 1. My grandmother’s uncle Yankel Shamovsky was born in Mogilev, Belarus in 1870. His parents were Gerts Shamovsky and Mina Zelichenok. He immigrated to the USA in 1904 in New York. I have his birth certificate and a new immigrant manifest. My grandmother and her cousin told me that Yankel lived in Chicago area and his brother joined him later. The brother’s name presumably was Ayzik (Isaac?). 2. My grandmother’s cousin Daniel (David) Shamovsky was born in Novonikolaevsk, Russia (now this is Novisibirsk) in 1900-1901. His parents were Khonon Shmuel Shamovsky and Hanna. He immigrated to the USA in 1923 thru China. He came to Seatle. He become a US citizen in New York in 1931 and changed his name to David Sander. I have Daniel’s new comers manifest and his US citizenship form. 3. My grandmother’s third cousin Mendel Shamovsky was born in 1887 in Mogilev. His parents were Aron Movsha Shamovsky and Basya. He immigrated to the USA in 1912 in Detroit. I have his birth certificate and new comers manifest. I found Max Shamovsky from Detroit, Michigan in the 1930 USA census. I guess that Max and Mendel is the same person. Max was married to Bertha and had at least three kids - Beatrice, Muriel and Cookie. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
