i had two daughters that i gave up for adoption. first child was born on 5/23/82 and the second child was born on 5/29/84. The adoption was through Catholic Social Service in Cincinnati, Ohio. I named my first child Susan Ann and my second child Lisa Marie. My name is Susan Marie Christensen, my maiden name is Wolf. They both were private adoptions. Both times I stayed in a home for unwed mothers in Sharonville, Ohio through Catholic Social services. I was able to write both of them letters and give a gift, the adopted parents are suppose to give this to them when they turned 16 yrs of age. When staying in the home we were always told it was best not to see the child once born, it would make it harder to place the child for adoption. I chose to spend the 3 days in the hospital holding them, feeding them, whispering to them how much I loved them. I still have the caps that were placed on their head at birth, blankets, bibs, pictures, pacifiers, etc.. Every year in may my heart aches as if it were yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't think of them and wonder if they are happy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
