3/6/2009 I am trying to locate descendants of Thomas Connolly and Julia McHugo (McHue, McHugh) of Abbeygormican, Co Galway Ireland to invite to the 1st Ever Connolly/Conley Family Reunion. I am gathering names and addresses of relatives to build a mailing list. I will use this mailing list to communicate information regarding the reunion. The reunion is in the planning stage and is planned for the summer of 2010. It will probably be a weekend event as I anticipate many people will be traveling to attend it. The location is undecided at this time. It may be in Wisconsin or Minnesota which seems to be the areas where the majority of known northern Connollys reside. The immigrant ancestors of the northern branch of the family are John Connolly and Anne Whalen. They settled in Janesville, WI about 1850. My Connolly/Conley branch began when my great grandfather, Luke Connolly and his wife Catherine Reilly, came to Chicago about 1890. Both the northern and Chicago branches of the family have Thomas Connolly and Julia McHugo as their common ancestors.
