Researching Peebles(spelling varies)/Murphy/Matthews Connection. My great-grandfather, Mack Mat(t)hews married Ms. Elmana Murphy On March 3, 1898. They had one son, Leroy. Mack remarried in October 1900 to Sallie Keys and then moved to Memphis. Leroy never knew his real mother but he was listed in the 1900 census living with his uncle Jonas/Jonah Peebles in SOmerville. Elmana's parents were Rushia Peebles and Robert Murphy. Rusia (spelling varies)Peebles parents were Nancy Peebles and Elijah Peebles from Somerville, TN. Looking for modern day relatives.
