Query Text: |
Looking for family and descendants of Dr. Elisha Pickney Bomar who practiced medicine in Ohoopee and Lyons, Georgia. Dr.Bomar (30May 1867- 27April 1918) and wife Ella Talluah (23Oct 1870 – 9Jul 1937) are buried in the city cemetery in Glenwood Wheeler County Georgia. His sister, Etta Talluah M (Bomar)Pickren (3 Nov 1880-30 Oct 1899) is also buried in the Glenwood city cemetery. She was the wife of G.W. Pickren. (A George W Pickren was found in the 1900 Census in Crawford County, widower, age 27 living with his brother Thomas Pickren, both of whom worked in naval stores.) Dr. Bomar was born in the Chapel Hill Community of Douglas County (then Campbell County) Georgia. Parents unknown. In 1900 Dr. and Etta Bomar were in Tattnall County with daughters Ethel (b.June 1892)and Willie (b.Aug.1893). In 1920 Etta was listed as a widow with daughter Ethel Giles (widow teaching music) and Willie Bomar, who was single also a teacher. There are several notes about Dr. Bomar in early 1900 issues of the Lyons Progress. I received a note that Dr. Bomar’s death came by murder but unable to confirm or find other information. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
