I am trying to locate the whereabouts of my great aunt, Her name is Katherine Margaret Haffner, born 4/8/1861 in Tscherbakowka Russia. She immigrated to the US with her family and settled in Lehigh, Marion County Kansas. In the Marion county census in 1880 she is listed as single living with her parents and 19 years of age. The family made the Okla run but she remained in Kansas. Her dad died April 1924 in Omega Ok and in his Will dated May 1924 she is listed as Kath-rine Margaret Haffner Meier with a current address of Lehigh Kansas. From there we have lost track of her, The Marion county Kansas clerk cannot find her in their cemetery database. I did find this family in another county census, and the name Andrew A Meier in this census could be her step son?? She married Andrew A Meier. However the maiden name of this Andrew Meier's mom is Kritzer. any info appreciated This Andrew A Meier died in Riverside California, how can I go about obtaining this obit?? I found an Andrew A. Meier in the Union Twp., Rush Co., KS census in 1930. It states his parents were born in Russia. There is not a parent living with him. Leoti, Leoti Twp., Wichita Co., KS 18 Feb 1920 Sheet 8B Dwelling #185, Family #189 MAIER Andrew 26 Farmer - General Farming Monica 23 Nick 4 1/12 Irene 3 Matthew 1 1/12 California Deaths, 1940-1997 Meier, Andrew Anton, male, b. 17 Sept 1893 KS; d. 8 May 1984 Riverside, CA. SS#512096817 Mother's maiden name Kritzer burial Crestlawn Cemetery Riverside calif 1-909-689-1441 Holy Cross A #306 Sp G This age fits the Andrew that was in the 1920 and 1930 census.
