I'm looking for information (other than the U.S. Census, of which I have access to) on the African American Horton family who lived in Panola County, Texas during the 1850's through the early 1900's. Although some moved away to different parts of Texas, Louisiana and other states, a few remained. The names I am researching are: Nelson b. 1868 Lizzie Brown Horton Ruby b.1889 Joana Horton Williams-married Ras Williams. Gains Horton-b. 1830 a Slave Ann Horton-b. 1832 a Slave Joe Horton-1886 Charlie Martha Mandy b. 1897
