Looking for Thomas Alexander MacNeil's family tree My name is Amy Piercey. My grandfather, Daniel Joseph MacNeil (D.J. McNeil), just died Nov. 10, 2002. I asked him many questions about his family, unfortunately, he didn't know much about his MacNeil's. Siblings: John Malcolm,(Dan Joe),Sarah, Margaret Anne, and Angus. Parents: Thomas Alexander MacNeil and {Annie Nicholson} Annie Nicholson(?) died after Angus was born (my grandfather was about 8yrs), her brothers, Phillip and Dan took the children, and lived on Long Island, Cape Breton. One of Annie's brothers moved to the States (Philadelphia,USA?) and started a "tool and die" company. When Annie died "Archibald's" or family from the States wanted to adopted the children, but the parish priest said "no", due to difference of religion. My grandfather talked about an Uncle Frank MacNeil and A.A. MacNeil, that possibly owned/ran a store in Big Pond. Thomas Alexander died around 1966, and was 96 yrs old, at that time he lived in Barrachois/Boisdale. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
