Family photos and any information relating to the life of Marie Simon who may have married Mr Boaza of Rotorua. I was born 18 October 1957 at Bethany Salvation Army Hospital in Wellington. I was adopted by loving parents Shirley and Desmond Cravino and raised in Feilding in the Manawatu. I am 53 this year and understand Marie married Mr Boaza approximately 2-4 years after I was adopted. The information I have is sketchy but I gather that Marie made contact with Social Welfare around the time she remarried seeking my return to the family. When this bid failed, she continued on with her life and lived in Rotorua. Were I to have been reunited, I wonder if I was also the daughter of Henry Boaza. My adopted father, Desmond Cravino, was originally from Samoa. I would like to know if I am of Maori as well as Cook Island descent. Certainly I am told the Boaza name is a Cook Islands name. I am curious to know if I have brothers, sisters, cousins alive who are related? I am married and living in Palmerston North but for ten years lived in Australia. I believe my birth Mother passed away during this time...searches on Births Deaths and Marriages suggest she may have died in the mid 1980s. I do not know if any family members of the Simon and / or Boaza Family are aware of my existence. Naturally I have tried to ask for information with a great deal of sensitivity in the past, but I am now in my 50s and the need to fill in the blanks with photos and faces is very strong. I was told my birth mother was a tall woman, carried herself with pride, that she stayed with family in Matamata before going to Wellington for the birth and had not wanted to part with her baby. I would be grateful for any information regarding the life of Marie Simon/s or the Simons/Simon/Boaza family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
