I am looking for my birth mother. Her first name is Valerie. She called me Nina. My adopted parents gave me a different name. I was born in England on 11 September 1968. I was 5 and a half pounds and I think my mother suffered from a heart murmour and high blood pressure throughout the pregnancy. I was brought home from England by her, and put up for adoption at St. Annes Adoption Society, Cork. I tried to contact Valerie a few years ago, but she did not want to meet me. I think she was only 18 when she had me, and did not have anyone to confide in, only an older sister who lived in England. Both my adopted parents have died, and my only brother committed suicide (he was also adopted), and I adored him, so the world can be very lonely for me. I just wanted to meet Valerie to thank her for giving me a good start in life, and to let her know I still think of her daily, and pray that it hasn't been too hard for her. I know how hard it must have been, as I have beautiful children myself. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
