If so, I'd certainly like to hear from you! I've been trying for years to find information regarding the parents of my great grandfather, William A. Johnson. He was born abt 1833, New Brunswick [now p/o Canada] and died 16 Sep 1894, Tawas City, Iosco Co., Michigan. He married Matilda Rebecca Rawling, probably in Michigan, abt 1860 and they had 9 children, one of whom was Roscoe Conklin Johnson, who changed his surname to Johnston after he married and moved west from Michigan. I first find a record of William in the 1860 Michigan census, East Saginaw, Saginaw Co. Age 24, laborer, born New Brunswick. He's living in the household of Lorenzo Ledbetter, age 51, lumberman, born Maine. I next find William in the 1870 Michigan census, married and with 2 children in Forest, Genesee. He is next found in Otter Lake, Lapeer Co., with his wife and 5 children. William purchases property in Tawas City, Michigan in 1884, where William later died. I have contacted the Iosco Co. courthouse and they have no records on William. Several years ago, I had a ydna test from ftdna and only recently found any really close matches. These were some Johnsons who lived in the Bahama Islands and immigrated to Florida in about 1855. I had a deep clade test done by ftdna and I am in haplogroup E1b1b1a2. Howard Johnston
